The offline-versus-online debate could rage all night – and there’s certainly a case to be made for both sides. But when it comes to grouping our favourite songs together, we stand firmly on the side of the digital playlist.
Sure, the thought of carefully and painstakingly taping our favourite songs onto a cassette brings a wave of nostalgia. But the 90s are done – and thanks to apps such as Spotify, we’re not exactly looking in our rearview mirror at mixtapes. In this particular case, we’re happy to just click a few buttons and conjure up a playlist of our favourite tunes.
Another bonus? We don’t always have to do the work ourselves. Everyone is making playlists – from performers such as Halsey and Florence + The Machine to brands such as Nike. Even the Obama White House put together a playlist or two. And we have been known to rock out to our very own GRL PWR playlist around these parts. (#shamelessplug)
